Towards the bottom of the descent, the path runs off to the right towards Scawgill Bridge, but when it intercepts a horizontal path, turn left, soon passing through a gate beyond which a welcome seat, to the memory of Lady, awaits.

Turn left and pass Crosses Cottage and follow the lane for 200yds to a fingerpost and kissing-gate on the right. Pass through and follow the track through St Catherine’s Wood, swinging left to reach a wall on the edge of the wood.
